Today’s adventure took us to Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm in Radnor, Ohio!
We’ve been visiting this pumpkin patch for the past few years, and picking pumpkins has become one of my favorite fall traditions.

This year, the sky was cloudy, the weather was cool, and the air had that beautiful, crisp smell of autumn.
As we wandered through the pumpkin patch, our feet occasionally got caught in the vines connecting the pumpkins. Little yellow flowers dotted the field, promising pumpkins yet to grow. But there were other flowers, too. Purple, blue, and white. We called out each color as we discovered them, admiring the little pops of beauty scattered throughout the field.

But it was those vines that kept catching our feet that eventually caught my attention.

I started thinking about how interconnected everything was. How those vines carried nourishment, feeding the pumpkins and helping them grow.
And what a beautiful variety of pumpkins there were! Big, bold orange pumpkins, of course. But also white, yellow, blue, and even some that appeared pink if you looked closely enough.
Different colors. Different shapes. Different sizes. All growing together in the same patch.

And I couldn’t help but think about us.
Just like those pumpkins, we are all connected.
We are connected to so many people in so many different ways. Through our families, friendships, workplaces, communities, and even the brief interactions we have with strangers.
And just like those vines, we are constantly feeding one another.
Our nourishment comes through our words, our actions, our attitudes, and the way we choose to show up and treat each other.
Whether we realize it or not, we are always contributing something.

So what are we feeding into the lives of those around us?
Are we offering encouragement, kindness, patience, and support? Are we helping others grow?
Or are our words and actions damaging the very connections that hold us together?
It’s something worth thinking about.
Because when we choose to show up healthy, clear-minded, and ready to contribute goodness, that nourishment doesn’t stop with one person. It travels. It strengthens our connections. It helps the entire patch flourish.
And together, we create a beautiful harvest.
A harvest of relationships, experiences, memories, and love.
What a beautiful reminder to find in the middle of a pumpkin patch.

Of course, our day was filled with plenty of other fun, too!
The kids ran from one activity to the next, visiting animals, playing pumpkin bowling, and bouncing on the jumping blob. We even enjoyed some absolutely delicious tacos. Yes, tacos at a pumpkin patch! And they were fantastic!

Before leaving, we couldn’t resist a warm bag of freshly made caramel popcorn. We watched it being prepared right in front of us, and the smell alone was enough to make our mouths water.

If you haven’t visited Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm, I highly encourage you to go! There is truly something for the whole family.
We came for the pumpkins, enjoyed an afternoon full of fall fun, and left with another year of beautiful memories.
And for me, a little reminder that what we feed into the world matters.
Here’s to growing goodness, nurturing our connections, and enjoying the beautiful harvest we create together.
Once home, the spooky fun continued!
We grabbed two of our freshly picked pumpkins, a Sharpie, and a carving knife, and headed outside to bring our pumpkins to life! Silly faces were drawn, cuts were made, and before we knew it, our pumpkins had transformed into spooky little masterpieces!

Next up, a frightfully delicious dinner!
We grabbed hot dogs and crescent rolls, wrapping strips of dough around each hot dog to create our very own mummy dogs! After baking in the oven until golden brown, our little mummies were ready to be devoured!
And of course, we couldn’t forget a little ketchup to make things extra gory!

Pumpkin carving, mummy dogs, and a little spooky creativity. Just another reason why I love this time of year!
What are some of your favorite fall traditions? I’d love to hear about them!
